Can you introduce yourself?
My name is Louise, and I’m an illustrator based in Lyon, a city that nourishes me with its energy, even if I sometimes dream of space and nature. In my illustrations, I particularly like to tell stories without characters, just using the product as a silent witness.
How would you describe your creative world?
I like to play with intense colors and powerful contrasts. Layering colors is my tool for capturing light and a particular atmosphere. My illustrations are like an open window on a captured moment in life, I like to think of my drawings as little plays, each product an actor in its own right. I like to leave some room for interpretation to the viewer, so that everyone can make the story their own in their own way.
What did you seek to reproduce through your work with Tiptoe?
I imagined a simple summer scene, but one charged with sensations. The cool shade of a tree, a bouquet of mimosa, pruning shears, like a moment of calm, perhaps after gardening. My intention was to highlight the products in an environment that evokes life without showing it directly, like a suggested presence.
Can you tell us about a place where you feel good?
My dad’s garden in the mountains. Even in the middle of August, it’s cool and the air is so soft. The sound of insects, the lapping of a distant stream, and that feeling of being away from the world.
