Can you introduce yourself?
Hey, I’m Lauren, a designer and illustrator based in Sheffield, UK. My background in graphic design influences my illustration work, giving me a strong sense of composition, colour, and visual storytelling. I’m drawn to character-driven illustration, often inspired by everyday observations – capturing personality, movement, and the little moments that bring a scene to life.
How would you describe your creative world?
My world is a balance of city life and nature. I thrive in the creative energy of urban places but always seek out green spaces. Whether it’s a bustling café or a quiet walk in the park, I find inspiration in both. This mix of environments inevitably influences my work.
How did this collaboration inspire you?
When you first reached out, spring was just starting to peek through, and with it comes that sense of renewal and optimism. There’s something about the change of seasons that brings a fresh perspective, and summer, in particular, feels like an open invitation to enjoy life a little more. Longer days, time spent outdoors, and a collective joy in simply being together. The MIDI collection feels sleek and bold, with beautiful colors that immediately lend themselves to illustration. It was exciting to bring that vibrancy to life through my work.
Can you tell us about a place where you feel good?
The seaside, without a doubt. Growing up in the West Midlands, feels very landlocked, the coast has always felt like an escape. There’s something about the sea air, the rhythmic waves, and the openness that instantly lifts my mood. It feels like a holiday without having to travel too far and an instant mind reset.
