On the occasion of the launch of the new PLI shelving collection, artist Carla Di Benedetto presents a new series of illustrations set within a distinctive universe. The inspiration for this series comes from the artist’s everyday life: daily walks with Soba, her dachshund, and anecdote-filled exchanges with other dog owners.
The canine universe
Carla then seized upon an unexpected parallel: these universal canine quirks perfectly mirrored the everyday uses of the PLI shelves. She created four illustrations where each unique PLI usage meets a specific dog archetype imperfect moments that bring to life the reality of our interiors.
The Destroyer
Soba, the small dachshund whose life goal is to test the structural integrity of everything. The PLI Slim with hooks elevates towels and robes, but Soba sees only a chew toy.
The Explorer
Leo, whose curiosity far exceeds his spatial awareness. He sees every shelf, every surface, as a fascinating vertical landscape to explore. The PLI composition in the kitchen holds delicate items thought to be out of reach.
The Sleeper
Totò the Spinone takes possession of his rightful place: the center of the bed. The illustration captures his deep, guilty sleep, next to the PLI Tablet.
The Prince
Adonis, a greyhound of absolute royal elegance. He owns his velvet couch, above which the PLI 20 cm shelves display artworks and decorative objects.
