Enjoy reading!
To start, what are your first and last names, and who is in your family?
Haha, I recognize that intro… So, I’m Clémentine Galey, and I’ve been with Julien, the father of my two children, for many years: Pablo, 10, and Thelma, 8.
Tell us your story, and the story of the Bliss podcast you created in 2018.
Bliss came from a desire to bring meaning and purpose to my professional life.
I had been a casting director at TF1 for 7 years, I had always worked in television and cinema, and I wanted to launch a personal project alongside my job. One of my sisters was pregnant, I reconnected with the world of pregnancy, and I answered her many questions, with no filter. When I realized no one else was giving her this information, I thought something had to be done.
I used to listen to a lot of podcasts, but there was nothing about motherhood: that would be my project. At first, this podcast had no business purpose whatsoever. I never imagined it would transform my life to such an extent.
What fuels your inspiration every day?
My curiosity and admiration for human beings in general, and women in particular. I’m constantly amazed by things that may seem ordinary, and to me, being able to create life still feels supernatural.
What is your favorite room in your apartment? Why?
The living area is without a doubt the heart of our apartment. It’s where everything happens: my interviews for Bliss, our family meals, our evenings with friends… I’m a fan of this large, ultra-bright room, filled with life and wonderful people.
Do you have a decor must-have? If so, what is it?
I like objects that tell me a story. My guy is a film set decorator, and he often brings unlikely pieces home. He has a real design culture and a discerning eye, and together we create our own setting; our decor is quite evolving.
What materials, colors, and combinations inspire you?
I like low, round, organic furniture. I’m increasingly drawn to soft materials, enveloping shapes, and warm colors. I’m obsessive about lighting; we have lots of light sources: string lights, pendant lights, neon lights… everything is on a dimmer, and we vary the atmosphere depending on the time of day.
What is the standout TIPTOE piece to have at home, in your opinion? Why?
I love the LOU stools! They’re nomadic, discreet, playful seats that adapt to every room and really make an impression. The white recycled plastic finish is a real favorite.
Finally, would you like to share a book, a film, a play, an artist… that you particularly appreciate?
I’m a huge fan of Delphine Cauly’s work, aka @été1981. Her drawings move me and bring me sunshine and sensuality… It always feels good!
