TIPTOE by PIMENT MARTIN
Hey Marion! Can you introduce yourself?
My name is Marion and I’m an illustrator working under the name Piment Martin. If you spend time on social media, you’ll recognize me by my big green eyes, my untameable mane and my faithful sidekick Miso (my cat). I’m of Réunionese origin, born in Tours, I live in Lyon and spend quite a lot of time in Paris.
How would you define your creative world?
My line is graphic and my palette is vibrant; I like to say that my illustrations are joyful. I love shapes and compositions. My favorite subjects are connected to the body and femininity, but also to nature and objects.
Where do you find inspiration every day?
Inspiration is everywhere. I always have a little notebook with me where I jot down small scenes from everyday life and sketch little compositions I like, such as a table in a restaurant, for example. I love browsing flea markets, where you always find unexpected objects placed side by side.
How important is your home to you? What does it say about you?
My home is very important to me. I work from home and I like to feel good in my surroundings. It helps me feel inspired and creative every day. A few months ago, I completely renovated an old house with my partner; we started with a blank canvas, so my home feels 100% like me: touches of color, vintage and modern flea-market furniture, illustrations by my favorite artists and lots of plants.
Why did you choose the TIPTOE table legs and the LOU stool for your home?
I chose the LOU stool by Jean André because I was looking for a stool for my studio and I love limited-edition artist pieces. I also fell for the yellow TIPTOE table legs because they bring that modern, colorful touch I love so much.
What is your vision of TIPTOE?
For me, Tiptoe is a brand that is practical, modern and timeless all at once. It’s what I love in my home: having furniture and objects that stand the test of time, combining both aesthetics and functionality.
What inspired you about the idea of incorporating our objects into your world?
The common thread between TIPTOE and my world is the playful feel of the shapes and colors. It was a real pleasure to bring our worlds together.
Any recent creative discovery you’d like to share with us?
I fell in love with André Cazenave’s shell lamp at a flea market in Arles. It’s a table lamp whose brightness can be adjusted by opening the shell.
