TIPTOE by Mirae
What does TIPTOE look like through an artist’s eyes?
Constantly seeking inspiration, we gave artists carte blanche to make our pieces their own within their universe. A way to bring together two creative fields and discover TIPTOE from a different perspective. Meet Mirae, a tattoo artist from Bordeaux.
Hello, could you introduce yourself?
My name is Mirae, I’m originally from Sablé sur Sarthe, and I graduated with an HND in graphic design (the equivalent of a BTS), which I completed in Angers. I’ve been a tattoo artist for nearly a year in Bordeaux, at the APT 235 studio.
How do you define your creative world?
It’s not yet easy for me to explain my creative world. I’d say: texture, fragment, grain, softness, graphic, transparency, and abstraction.
Where do you find inspiration every day?
By walking, by expanding my culture (books, cinema, discovering new artists), but I’d say above all by observing what surrounds me, especially the light. I like exploring new mediums and techniques. Like everyone, I sometimes lack inspiration.
How important is your interior to you? What does it say about you?
My interior includes books and objects that inspire me, pared-back décor with touches of color and dried flowers. My interior can reflect someone organized, inspired by design and craftsmanship.
Why did you choose the TIPTOE SSD chair?
It’s a chair with a refined, aesthetic design. Its walnut wood brings warmth, a natural feel, and a lot of charm to my room.
What is your vision of TIPTOE?
TIPTOE is a responsible brand that creates durable objects, easy to assemble at home, with a refined design and high-quality, recycled and recyclable materials.
What did you enjoy about drawing our objects and integrating them into your world?
I really liked the design of TIPTOE objects, with their very graphic lines, while keeping the colors natural, vibrant, and warm.
A recent creative discovery to share with us?
I recently discovered Guillaume Grando (@supakitch_), and there are people whose work I appreciate, such as Nuria Val and Saul Leiter.
A cool place to share with anyone visiting Bordeaux?
There are lots of places, but I’d say BoomBoomShop for home décor, Horace for great food and, of course, APT 235 to get tattooed!
