Can you introduce yourself?

My name is Marie and I live in Marseille. I’ve been an illustrator for 10 years, after working as a graphic designer. I love being by the sea, where the light of this city enchants and inspires me every day.

How would you describe your creative world?

My style is defined by large flat areas of color and a play on transparency inspired by screen-printing techniques. I like to “cut” into color and play with sharp, angular lines, like a collage. My compositions focus on scenes from everyday life, architectural details, nature, and design.

Where do you find your inspiration?

Anything can inspire me! An exhibition, an ad in a magazine, a passage from a book, a flea market stall, an abstract pattern… A color combination on someone passing by in the street can spark an illustration idea that I can quickly visualize and rush to draw once I’m home.

The Christmas season brings me so much joy, especially being with family and friends and taking the time to enjoy it. And eating well, of course!
