Tiptoe by Séverine Assous
For her collaboration with Tiptoe, illustrator Séverine Assous invites us to share a Sunday brunch captured through her distinctive universe, made up of bold blocks of colour and patterns.
Séverine Assous is a French illustrator based in Paris. Trained in engraving at the Arts Décoratifs, she first worked as an art director in advertising before devoting herself fully to illustration.
What inspires her are bodies in motion, unexpected postures, surprising gestures full of movement. She stages her fellow humans with a choreographic elasticity, where each character is caught in the moment, swept up in their own momentum, between laughter and spontaneity. Her eye catches what others no longer see: the small details of everyday life.
“I wanted to show Tiptoe objects in full swing. Far from static interiors, I imagined the joyful bustle of a Sunday lunch where everything spills over a little: gestures, bodies, conversations… and plates.”
