"10 years - 10 visions" - Paris Design Week

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Tiptoe invites ten creators to reinterpret its founding object: the clamp-on table leg.

This carte blanche gave rise to ten unique pieces, exhibited at the Ellia Art Gallery in Paris and offered for sale in support of the association Toit à Moi. Through this anniversary exhibition, Tiptoe pays tribute to a decade of modern, responsible design, while reaffirming the values that define its identity: creativity, commitment, and a sense of the collective.

The project

THE “10 YEARS — 10 VISIONS” EXHIBITION

To mark its 10th anniversary, the brand Tiptoe celebrates a decade of modern, vibrant design. For the occasion, the studio has invited ten creators to reinterpret its founding object: the clamp-on table leg. From this invitation came ten singular works that question, divert, or elevate this now emblematic object.

These ten interpretations bring the worlds of each invited artist and designer into dialogue and reflect the richness of their approaches to object design. All pieces in the exhibition are offered for sale in support of Toit à Moi, an association working to help homeless people reintegrate through long-term access to housing, and supported by Tiptoe for several years.

Discover

An open conversation between art, design, and craftsmanship, where each piece explores new forms, new uses, and new materials.

The clamp-on table leg as a starting point

Inspired by the work of François Arnal in the 1970s, who was already imagining a simple, modular structural element, the Tiptoe table leg embodies a distinctive approach to design. Today, more than 500,000 legs have been adopted around the world. To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Tiptoe has chosen to return to the source by inviting ten creators to reinterpret this founding object, each in their own way. A tribute to a product that has become iconic, and further proof that a good object is one that can stand the test of time without ever ceasing to inspire.

The project: 10 creators, 10 unique pieces

Wendy Andreu - ToeTip

Wendy Andreu is a designer and craftswoman who seeks to communicate through the materials she uses. By experimenting with them, she discovers surprising results that can be translated into functional design proposals. She is able to execute any idea that comes to mind in order to test its potential. She likes to think openly about the bridges between material, people, and space. In her research, context is just as important as concept, without forgetting the quality of the craftsmanship and the aesthetics of the pieces.

The “ToeTip” coffee table uses the 43 cm Tiptoe leg upside down to imagine a new function for the clamp. Made from powder-coated steel, it combines functionality with inventiveness. A piece that fully reflects Wendy Andreu’s approach, where experimentation with materials and attention to context are as essential as the concept itself.

BIG-GAME - Inox

The Swiss trio BIG-GAMEAugustin Scott de Martinville, Grégoire Jeanmonod and Elric Petitcreates design that is direct, accessible and joyful. Their pragmatic approach gives rise to clear, well-considered objects designed to last.

With the “Inox” table, they revisit Tiptoe’s iconic table leg in an outdoor version. A round table reduced to its simplest expression: a disc and four legs in brushed stainless steel. A piece of understated elegance, where form and function strike a natural balance.

Jean-Baptiste Durand - DR-Tiptoe version

Jean-Baptiste Durand is a designer whose work, free from conventional frameworks, explores hybrid territories blending ancient craftsmanship with technological remnants. He offers an archaeological reading of the future.

The “DR-tiptoe version” pendant light belongs to his Dystopian Series, in which humanity lives among the remains of a hyper-technological civilization. This fictional fragment combines obsolete LED matrices with altered ceramics, evoking artifacts with no clear function. Designed for Tiptoe, this version offers an evocative glow: the outline of the base acts as a temporal marker, anchoring the object in a future already past.

Kann Design - VV

Kann is a studio founded by Houssam Kanaan and Meghedi Simonian, combining artisanal expertise with modern design. By controlling the entire production chain, the duo develops a clear, functional and refined language.

With “VV”, they revisit the Tiptoe table leg with a focus on ease of use. Two V-shaped structures naturally form supports for vinyl records, books or magazines. The upper top holds everyday objects.A graphic, functional, straightforward piece.

Sophie Dries - Songoe

An architect and designer, Sophie Dries shapes a distinctive world informed by contemporary art, history and noble materials. Inspired as much by Arte Povera as by the Age of Enlightenment, her work combines artistic sensitivity with architectural rigor.

The “Songoe” desk captures the sculptural spirit of the original “Songye” piece, held in the Mobilier national collection. The Corten steel legs, reimagined in a totemic form, attach using the studio’s signature clamp system. Handmade by Atelier Moore in France, this object embodies a dialogue between craftsmanship and contemporary modularity.

Rudy Guénaire - Palm

Rudy Guénaire is a designer and interior architect. He imagines sensitive spaces, shaped by poetry, artisanal savoir-faire and a strong visual culture. After designing the interiors of his PNY restaurants, he developed a singular practice within his own agency.

“Palm” pays tribute to American modernism. A simple, fluid design with a touch of eccentricity. Its powder-coated steel base supports a frosted glass top in a graphic, airy composition. A balanced piece, between formal rigour and freedom of expression.

Constance Guisset - À point

Constance Guisset is a designer whose work is defined by a search for balance between ergonomics, delicacy and imagination. Her world favours round and curved forms, seeking to bring lightness and fluidity to her creations.

The “À point” table perfectly illustrates this approach: the graphic line of the legs meets her favourite geometry, between roundness and curves. A flight of discs seems to have landed on the moon, delicately altering the profile of the legs to create a piece that is both dynamic and harmonious.

Julien Renault - DXF

Julien Renault is a designer guided by an essential vision of the object, which he always approaches through its connection to everyday life and its environment. His sharp eye, informed by photography, reveals the beauty of the ordinary with clarity and precision.

With “DXF”, he proposes a minimal intervention on the Tiptoe table leg, redrawing its outline to incorporate a discreet hook. A subtle modification that naturally extends the object’s silhouette, as if it had always existed that way. This functional detail lets everyday items be hung from it, simply enriching the object’s use.

Wilmotte - Bookends and Glass Racks

Jean-Michel Wilmotte is a French architect and designer known for his refined, timeless style. At the helm of his agency since 1975, he has developed a cross-disciplinary approach spanning architecture, urban planning and product design, with particular attention to detail and French craftsmanship.

With the “Bookends and Glass Racks” pieces, Wilmotte reinterprets the principle of the clamp and the system « BRACKET » to imagine objects that are discreet yet eloquent. Made from powder-coated steel, these creations fit onto a shelf, aptly extending an architectural language into everyday gestures.

Olimpia Zagnoli - Tiptoes

Olimpia Zagnoli is an illustrator and multidisciplinary artist whose world blends humor, graphic elegance, and vivid imagination. Her work moves between publishing, installation, and contemporary art, with a colorful and instantly recognizable aesthetic.

With “TipToes”, she offers a whimsical and poetic interpretation of the table leg. By giving the iconic leg real « toes », Olimpia gives the object a unique, lively personality, as an invitation to see everyday life from an offbeat perspective.

“This project is a way of celebrating everything that has driven us from the beginning: the desire to create, to share, and to do things with meaning.”

A pop-up space dedicated to the project

Tiptoe took over Galerie Ellia, in the heart of the Marais in Paris, for its pop-up exhibition. Comprising five spaces, the venue highlights the ten pieces created for the occasion, alongside a retrospective and projection area, a space dedicated to new products, a convivial lounge, and a pop-up shop where visitors could purchase selected pieces from the studio.

The retrospective and projection area

This space retraces the history of the studio’s iconic objects and the evolution of its systems. Through its creations, Tiptoe shares its passion for modern, vibrant design, where each new collection reflects a successful creative challenge: simple, well-designed pieces with a bold, timeless style.

The new releases area

This space brings together the studio’s iconic objects and its new collections, which naturally continue the studio’s expertise. Each piece, designed with rigor and enthusiasm, embodies a constant desire to combine simplicity and durability.

Respecting the studio’s manufacturing culture, these new creations draw on outstanding European production. Ten years after its creation, Tiptoe continues its story: that of a design capable of adapting, surprising, and supporting our lifestyles today and tomorrow.

The lounge area

At the heart of the exhibition, a lounge area invited visitors to take a break and extend the experience. Designed as a welcoming space for conversation and connection, it showcased the Bridge sofa collection in collaboration with textile manufacturer Kvadrat.

A big thank you to our partners on this project.
