Can you introduce yourself?

Hello, my name is Louise, and I’m an illustrator and artist. Four years ago, I moved back to my hometown, Rouen. I first became involved in the world of illustration during my final years studying at the Beaux-Arts in Le Havre, in the school’s screen-printing studio, where graphic designers, publishers and illustrators would come to share their experiences and their love of printed objects, ink and linework with us. Today, I mainly create digital illustrations, and I sometimes paint.

How would you describe your creative universe?

After several years of illustrating in pencil, in black and white, I’ve made room for more color, patterns and details. Given my relatively young experience, my graphic language is constantly evolving. Fashion is quickly becoming a narrative medium in its own right. I’ve developed a soft, refined and expressive style by creating distinctive characters with their own personalities.

How did this collaboration inspire you?

Recently, I’ve been trying to bring more life to my illustrations by adding elements around my characters, such as a café storefront, animals or… furniture.

Can you share a place where you feel good?

Like many people, if there’s one place where I truly feel good, it’s the apartment/studio I’ve been living in for the past few months. I have a real space where I can express my creativity, surrounded by everything that inspires me most: books/comics and lots of little colorful objects. I love having friends and family over—and who knows, maybe one day a pet!
