Tiptoe by Karo Oh
Can you introduce yourself?
My name is Karo, I’m an illustrator and I live in Austria. I love summer hikes, cold plunges (especially the feeling afterwards), and spending time with my friends, whether old or new.
How would you describe your creative world?
At the heart of my work is the idea of community, the female experience, and all forms of movement. I place great importance on playfulness, and I’m convinced we all need more lightness and softness in our everyday lives; that’s what I try to convey through my art.
Where do you find your inspiration?
I draw inspiration from yoga asanas, which my characters hold with ease. It gives them a confident presence, almost like superheroines—which, in my eyes, most women are. I loved the idea of creating a bridge between movement and Tiptoe’s still furniture.
Can you share a place where you feel at home?
As life has taken me to many places over the years, I can’t really associate the idea of home with a single place. I like to think I can carry that feeling with me wherever I go, through my routines, my connection with nature, or the communities I encounter. Deep down, home is where I feel safe, inspired, and free to play.
