Can you introduce yourself?

Hello, I’m Delphine, a French illustrator based in London. I grew up near the Côte Vermeille in France and went on to complete my Art History degree in Rennes. The sea and the ocean are part of who I am and an integral part of my artistic world.

How would you define your creative world?

It is a world intended to be soothing, meditative, and solitary. With also a hint of melancholy embodied by the choice of vintage colors.

Water and the maritime environment are omnipresent and a reminiscence of my childhood. I also swim myself and regularly go to public swimming pools.

What did the JO inspire in you?

The JO were a great opportunity for me. A chance to expand my creative world into the realm of synchronized swimming. It’s something I had wanted to explore for a long time, and my collaboration with Tiptoe was the catalyst.

I have always been fascinated by the artistic side and millimeter-perfect precision of this swimming discipline. So I wanted to represent the pool, the changing room, and the café that Olympic swimmers visit every day. Their moments of rest and training.

Why did you decide to represent these Tiptoe objects?

I chose to represent the bench, shelves, chairs, coat racks, and stool because they are timeless pieces that could absolutely be found in public swimming pools. Their minimalist, clean lines are at one with this type of architecture. And they are essential elements in our interiors.

For the café, I drew inspiration from Studio Heju to bring the setting to life, while carefully selecting a summery color palette. Each selected Tiptoe object perfectly complements the aquatic world I imagined and fully serves its purpose.

What is your vision of Tiptoe?

Tiptoe objects are universal. To me, they are like a chameleon that can blend into any setting while enhancing it.

I also particularly like the eco-conscious approach and the use of non-precious materials, such as recycled plastic, to create design objects. In my eyes, perfection and beauty lie in simplicity.

Where will you be during the Games?

I’ll most likely be in the south of France by the sea. And I’ll be following the swimming events with great interest.

A place where you feel good?

The cozy tea room located in the Petersham Nurseries nursery, in London’s large Richmond Park. Sitting next to that fountain, sipping a coffee!
