Can beauty help drive action for the planet?
TIPTOE, guest on the Où est le beau podcast
“Où est le beau” is a podcast created by Hélène Aguilar, who is passionate about beautiful things, design and craftsmanship. Hélène conducts interviews on topics dedicated to art, design and architecture.
Vincent Quesada, co-founder of TIPTOE, is Hélène’s guest for a discussion on the topic “Can beauty help mobilize people for the planet?” Joined by Thierry Libaert, a specialist in positive communication and the author of several books, they explored the major shifts we are experiencing and sought to understand how to engage people without making them feel guilty.
TIPTOE opened the doors of its Loft in the 10th arrondissement of Paris to welcome journalists, interior designers and other guests to attend the debate and podcast recording. An evening rich in insights and exchange.
How does TIPTOE help mobilize people for the planet?
By creating furniture that is beautiful, timeless and durable, both through its materials and over time, TIPTOE is a mission-driven company. Even so, TIPTOE is not a campaigning brand; we do not want to make people feel guilty:
“From design through to end of life, we need to try to control our environmental impact from one end of the chain to the other. And a well-designed object should meet these principles: being useful, for one thing, lasting over time, and if it happens to break, being repairable—that’s the question of spare parts, of objects that can be disassembled, and of being used from one period of people’s lives to another.”
