Discover our best tips and ideas for designing your small kitchen and saving space for a more spacious feel.
Use the space from floor to ceiling
Every architect and interior designer will tell you: to optimise a small space, use the walls, from floor to ceiling. This actually has two benefits: providing plenty of storage on the one hand and visually enlarging the room on the other.
Save space with a wall-mounted table
At TIPTOE, there are several solutions for creating this sense of height and free up space in your small kitchen. First among them is the wall-mounted table. In dining table, high table or bar table, this TIPTOE creation has everything to appeal. With its two BRACKET wall mounts and its two table legs 75, 90 or 110 cm high, it adapts to every space, even the narrowest, while freeing up floor space in the room.
A wall-mounted table is undoubtedly an essential asset when designing a small kitchen.
We love Michelle’s and Delphine’s custom-made small square wall-mounted dining tables, which create a cosy dining nook for grabbing a quick meal.
Create a unique kitchen unit with our table legs
The TIPTOE table legs make it possible to create smart layouts with a minimalist, refined design. Céline designed a bar area with our 110 cm bar legs, which she paired with our designer bar stools. For his part, Paul expanded his kitchen space by extending his worktop thanks to the 90 cm worktop leg.
TIPTOE TABLE LEGS
Organize your space with wall shelves
To make use of the available space on your walls without overwhelming the room with bulky, imposing kitchen units, why not choose open shelves? With their top in solid oak, in reclaimed wood or in recycled plastic, the shelves wall-mounted TIPTOE offer storage that is as practical as it is decorative. Cookbooks, decorative objects, tableware to display, kitchen utensils: with them, everything stays within easy reach! And in style…
OUR WALL SHELVESAt Thomas’s, the shelves wall-mounted extend horizontally on either side of the hood. A storage space within easy reach for all his precious jars, ideal for optimizing space.
But our favorite is Valentin’s creation. In his industrial-style kitchen, where the combination of wood and steel takes pride of place, he has organized the space with shelves wall-mounted in reclaimed wood. A kitchen open with character that hasn’t forgotten to be functional! A special mention goes to the 90 cm table legs, which create an extra worktop in the kitchen.
How can you make the most of wall space?
To organize your small kitchen, store the appliances you rarely use in your cupboards. Save space in your drawers by using storage bins, and choose stackable pots and pans. Finally, make use of the space above your kitchen units by placing storage baskets there. If you still run out of space, remember that wall shelves provide accessible, practical storage space for small kitchens.
TIPTOE tip: once your shelves are mounted on the wall using our BRACKET wall brackets, you can add a metal rail or hooks to hang your kitchen utensils. That way, they’re always within easy reach. Clever!
BRACKET WALL MOUNTS
Make the most of every corner
In a small kitchen, every inch counts ! Start by thoroughly sorting through your belongings to clear the space. Clear out the accessories you no longer use and choose appliances with a volume suited to the room. This way, you create a functional kitchen with nothing superfluous. When it comes to layouts, think original and made-to-measure, depending on your kitchen’s configuration.

Designing a central island
For a small kitchen that is as functional as it is practical, there’s nothing better than a central island to optimize space. Both a dining table and a worktop, this multifunctional piece is the ideal ally for small spaces. It allows you to create an open kitchen by separating the room from the rest of the home.
Don’t overlook nooks
Don’t they say perfection lies in the details? Every kitchen has often-unused nooks and crannies. But that was without counting on the boldness and ingenuity of the TIPTOE community when it comes to space optimization.
Victor impresses us with his custom composition around his corner wall. A cut-to-size worktop + stacked mini shelves = an ergonomic small kitchen. As for Ida, she pulls off the feat designing creating a girly dining nook in a lost space.
Use clever storage solutions
The whole secret of a well-organized small kitchen lies in its storage practical clever, whether visible or hidden. This time, it’s Lucas’s creation that has impressed us. He repurposed the WAVE storage unit to turn them into drawers for cutlery. Let’s be honest, we love this clever storage piece !

When designing your small kitchen, one essential piece of furniture should not be overlooked: seating! Whether you prefer the comfort of a chair or the practicality of a stool, at TIPTOE you’re sure to find the kitchen furniture that suits you.

Work a little magic with decor
It’s amazing how the right decor can make a kitchen feel larger, almost like magic. At TIPTOE, we’ve decided to reveal all these little secrets to you of decor ideas jealously guarded so your kitchen can get a fresh new look!
Use light shades to make the space feel larger
Did you know it was possible to break up the feeling of a small space with paint? To bring in brightness and create a sense of space, choose light colors such as white, beige or gray. Heike’s minimalist yet wonderfully romantic world makes an impression at first glance. Here is a small kitchen with nothing to envy of larger ones.
Reading this first paragraph, we can already hear the color addicts cry scandal. Don’t worry! No, color isn’t off-limits in small kitchens, as long as you know how to use it sparingly, in small touches. TIPTOE table legs come in 9 colors, perfectly in tune with the times. Enough to turn your kitchen’s head—and style—in the blink of an eye.
Play with color contrasts
Like Alexandre, dare to go for an all-over black & white look full of contrast. The combination of white and black visually enlarges the space in her small kitchen. This contrast between light and dark shades gives her decor a trendy modern style.
Alternatively, you can also bring in color with a bold accessory. Anaïs’s and Léo’s yellow and red stools freshen up the room with their feel-good effect. Strong shades that appear sporadically in the different small decorative elements of their respective compact spaces.
Add a touch of greenery to the kitchen
Invite nature into your home to bring in color. Florine embraces the green trend with her trailing, lush plants. Plant-based decor that lifts the spirits!
To bring this decor idea to life, it couldn’t be simpler: place your prettiest plants on our wall shelves. That’s all there is to it!
Dare to use colorful decor
For fans of bright colors, having a small kitchen should never get in the way of your passion. Apply your darker colors preferably to the back walls to add depth to your space. The must-have ? Match the color of your TIPTOE legs to your paint. Sylvie chose a deep blue shade to tie everything together. A connecting touch that creates beautiful overall harmony.
Take Chloé, for example, who managed to bring brightness and radiance to her small kitchen with this sunny yellow shade. She styles her wall shelves with decorative objects.
With TIPTOE, whether you’re whipping up a delicious meal or sitting down to enjoy it, your small kitchen is ready to open its doors wide. And show off its personality!
