The SSD Soft chair: the first chair in recycled fabric!

The SSD Soft upholstered chair has all the characteristics of the SSD chair : Simple, Solid, Durable. It is made with an oak backrest, 2 legs in steel, a recycled plastic seat covered with a foam pad and recycled fabric, held in place with snap fasteners.

The SSD Soft chair is the first TIPTOE chair made of recycled fabrics! Its generous foam cushion wrapped in a recycled fabric and removable cover brings all the comfort needed for a desk chair or around the dining table. The SSD Soft upholstered chair is also perfect for professional use in offices, hotels or restaurants.

The challenge of a recycled, recyclable and removable fabric

Today, the supply of recycled fabrics is very scarce, but we did not want to skip this requirement: the origin and quality of the raw material are paramount for us. To meet our durability requirements, we have chosen our recycled fabric from the prestigious Danish company Gabriel, recognised for its know-how and the quality of its fabrics since 1851.

In accordance with TIPTOE’s 5 principles of sustainable design, each of our products is developed with special requirements in mind, for deconstruction, repairability and recyclability.

The SSD Soft chair has been designed so that each element can be separated and therefore recycled (the foam cushion, the fabric, the legs, the backrest). Thanks to its snaps under the seat, the SSD chair is easy to maintain and remove the cover, which is practical for machine washing!

The SSD Soft fabric chair: ideal for intensive usage

The SSD soft chair was born out of a desire for extra comfort thanks to the addition of a foam cushion wrapped in a recycled fabric, perfect for intensive use, whether at home or at the office.

The fabric and foam of the SSD Soft chair will add extra comfort for offices and restaurants. Its plush finish is very pleasant to both sight and touch.

The fabrics have excellent abrasion resistance and one of the best fire resistance profiles on the market with 10 different certifications. The fabrics are certified STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® and EU Ecolabel, so they are non-toxic for the skin, health and the environment.

Once again, with this first upholstered chair by TIPTOE, we wanted to go the extra mile. The SSD Soft chair will fit in perfectly around your dining table or as an office chair – comfort guaranteed !

Care instructions

The fabric covers are removable and machine washable at 40 degrees. The fabric can be steamed but cannot be ironed. To maintain the wood, simply clean it with a damp sponge and soft cloth. Steel does not require any special maintenance. If necessary, it can be cleaned with a microfibre cloth.
