An eco-friendly coffee table

With its unique design, the VENEZIA round coffee table, composed of three 43 cm TIPTOE table legs and a recycled plastic table top with a diameter of 80 cm, will enhance your living room. The VENEZIA table top is made from a hundred yoghurt pots.

VENEZIA, color pigments and Terrazzo inspiration

At TIPTOE, we want to demonstrate that it is possible to create objects from recycled plastic that are beautiful, timeless and durable. Our challenge was therefore to go beyond recycling by developing exceptional products that make completely forget the primary function of the plastic material.

The table top of the VENEZIA coffee table is made from a hundred yoghurt pots : this explains the white colour of the table top. The coloured gold and silver fragments from the labels are clues to a past life! VENEZIA is a real nod to Terrazzo, the famous mineral material, which was also historically made from mineral waste.

Each VENEZIA table top made of recycled plastic is unique and reveals a singular history, that of the past of plastic, to which recycling gives a second youth!

An innovative manufacturing process

The challenge of this collection of recycled plastic furniture was to reverse the initial lifespan of the material. The product is transformed from an extremely short-lived and ephemeral product (yoghurt pots or packaging) into a noble and robust object.

The tables and shelves in the collection are durable and designed to be functional for generations. This is what we call a circular approach. An existing raw material is transformed, which can be recycled again at the end of its life.

The table top are the result of an innovative manufacturing process : the collected plastic waste is chipped and then pressed (without the addition of a binder) to form the table top. The recycling system we use implies possible variations in colour between the pieces. We have set up specifications with our supplier so that the aesthetics of the tops are always as constant as possible, but each piece is unique.

Recycled plastic is a delicate material that should be cleaned with a soft damp cloth. The use of aggressive chemical products is not recommended to avoid damaging the surface. Steel does not require any special maintenance. If necessary, it can be cleaned with a microfibre cloth.
