Can you introduce yourself?
Hello, my name is Frauke. I’m a Berlin-based illustrator mainly inspired by architecture and interior design. My creative universe is filled with bright colors and eccentric shapes. It’s a positive world influenced by artists, designers, and other wonderful people.
Where do you find inspiration in your daily life?
I try to find as much inspiration as possible outside social media. It’s an important source for me, but going to an exhibition or visiting a piece of architecture is always more fun.
How important is your home to you? What does it say about you?
My home is very important to me. I also work from home, so I’ve tried to create a space where I can rest, but also feel inspired and motivated. My apartment is undoubtedly my safe haven.
Why did you choose the SSD wooden chair?
I love the round seat and the timeless design, which pairs well with other interior pieces.
What did you enjoy about incorporating our products into your creative universe?
I prefer using rounded shapes in my illustrations, which is why I found it very easy and enjoyable to incorporate the SSD wooden chair. I also think the chair is versatile and that I can tell different stories with it, such as a dining chair during a dinner, an office chair in front of a desk, or in my favorite illustration, a chair that simply stands there, looks beautiful, and can be picked up whenever you need it.
Any recent creative discovery you’d like to share with us?
I’ve just received a copy of “Melted Snow”, a book about the work of artist Ida Ekblad, one of my favorite artists.
