TIPTOE by Enikő
Can you introduce yourself?
My name is Enikő Katalin Eged and I am an illustrator and designer based in Budapest. I completed my university studies in spring 2022 at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts.
How would you describe your creative world?
I like to float between different visual narratives, atmospheres, and moods. I express myself through my favorite patterns and color combinations. I have two different graphic languages, one more abstract and the other more detailed, close to comic-book style. For one reason or another, I decided not to choose one, but to keep experimenting, and that’s how I developed my own graphic identity. If I had to sum up my art, I would say that the most important thing for me is a sense of familiarity, the ability to express emotions, and the connections between collective and personal memories.
Where do you draw inspiration from in your everyday life?
Emotions, memories, animals—especially horses and cats.
How important is your home to you? What does it say about you?
Even if I’m only staying somewhere for a few months, I need to put up my drafts, doodles, photos, and random postcards on the wall; I need flowers. As a designer, I really love patterned fabrics and textures in my home.
What is your vision of TIPTOE?
I love the way functionality and cozy vibes come together in TIPTOE’s aesthetic. I also appreciate the small details that help connect the different elements together.
What did you enjoy about integrating our products into your creative world?
I imagined moments, colors, and atmospheres for the everyday home with my favorite elements and TIPTOE pieces.
Any recent creative discovery to share with us?
My latest creative discovery is Bedouin patterns and colors. I visited the Jordan Craft Center two weeks ago, where I had the chance to explore all these beautiful patterns.
A nice place to share in Budapest?
My favorite place in Budapest is the ELTE Botanical Garden.
