TIPTOE by Ekaterina Trukhan
What does TIPTOE look like through an artist’s eyes?
Constantly seeking inspiration, we gave artists carte blanche to make our pieces their own within their world. A way to blend two creative fields and discover TIPTOE from a new perspective. Meet illustrator Ekaterina Trukhan.
Can you introduce yourself?
My name is Ekaterina Trukhan. As a creative person, I often wear several hats. I illustrate and sometimes write children’s books, create designs for various products, and also run my online shop where I sell art prints.
How would you define your creative world?
I love creating my happy world, where colors are bright and life is joyful.
Where do you find daily inspiration?
Everywhere! Depending on the project, it might be a pleasant walk outdoors or a beautiful color combination spotted somewhere.
How important is your interior to you? What does it say about you?
I’m introverted, and for me, home is a place where I can recharge and spend time alone. What’s more, since I work from home, it’s also my creative space, my bubble, where I can disconnect from the rest of the world and focus on my work.
Why did you choose the 43cm TIPTOE legs?
I’ve moved very often in recent years. So for my home, I only choose essential, functional things. I like the idea of flexibility, and I chose the legs because they can turn any tabletop into a bench or coffee table.
What is your vision of TIPTOE?
Functional products with minimalist design and beautiful combinations of textures and colors.
What inspired you to bring our pieces into your world?
I love the aesthetic of TIPTOE products. I think their playful character and simplicity fit well into my creative world. As a children’s illustrator, I often draw children’s bedrooms filled with imaginary furniture and objects. I enjoyed working on this project because it gave me the opportunity to introduce recognizable TIPTOE products into my artistic work.
