Vegetal vibes for Kate and her family

Kate, what’s your story? Your family’s story?
We are a family of five plant lovers, and we live in an idyllic fishing village where we love taking walks in the woods or kayaking on the river. We all love plants and take care of them; they are essential to our family life.
What are your decorating inspirations?
I want to create something beautiful and enjoyable, so that when you look at the room you see different textures, products, and a sense of space. We’re a family of five, so it needs to be practical and simple. Plants are part of our family, so when you walk into any room in the house there are always plants, and I truly think they make our home what it is.
I have an obsession with furniture, and I appreciate well-designed, aesthetically pleasing pieces. Something refined and passionately made for our home makes me happy.
How would you describe your world?
Our world is a blend of so many emotions. No two days are alike; we have a lot of love in our lives, and I’m convinced that if you have love, everything else follows and nothing else really matters.
What do plants bring to your home?
I’ve loved plants for as long as I can remember. My mother loved plants, and I always had a cactus or two in my bedroom from a very young age. It was when I got my own home that my passion for plants really came to life.
Plants bring life and energy into any room; they add color and texture to what could otherwise be a dull space. They refresh the air and make us more productive; they’re relatively inexpensive and completely change the look and feel of a room.
Why did you choose TIPTOE pieces? Which is your favorite, and why?
TIPTOE is everything I’ve talked about: incredibly well designed and made with passion. Everything they do serves that purpose, and it’s brilliant for a home. We have the Cloud White table legs, which we used for our dining table as well as our desk. The legs allowed us to create a custom-made dining table that fits perfectly in our ever-changing space.
We also have the LOU stools in several colors, and they’re the TIPTOE pieces we use the most! They’re in every room and used as side tables, plant stands, seats for the children, small tables for games, stools to reach something up high… Their design and construction are exceptional.
What TIPTOE creation would you like to make?
My next space to refresh, which is currently incredibly impractical, is our wardrobe / coat rack area. I’d love to create a well-organized space for all our coats using the incredible JO coat hooks from TIPTOE.
