The TIPTOE sofa (update #1): we have more to tell you about it!
A new home essential by TIPTOE
As you’ve known for several months now, TIPTOE is working on a sofa! A new home essential, responsibly made 100% in Europe. Given the current context, the TIPTOE sofa, initially planned for the end of 2020, will be launched at the end of the first quarter of 2021.
A sofa is a complex object to design. Many elements need to be considered: the frame, the cushions, the fabrics, the comfort, all while keeping the TIPTOE DNA. Our goal is to create a beautiful, durable and timeless sofa that you’ll keep for life!
The ideal sofa according to YOU
A few months ago, we asked you what the ideal sofa should look like in your opinion. Nearly 5,000 of you shared your thoughts with us to help us design this new TIPTOE piece, so a big thank you! Thanks to all your ideas, we got to work creating the sofa.
For you, the ideal TIPTOE sofa is a minimalist fabric sofa that brings together 3 essential criteria. It must be comfortable, beautiful and it must stand the test of time. The ideal sofa is also easy to care for and has removable covers.

1. A minimalist fabric sofa
Nearly 50% of you wanted a sofa with a simple, minimal fabric design. We answered that request while keeping the TIPTOE DNA of colorful steel. For the fabric, it is important to us to offer timeless, understated colors that work with every interior style, as well as bolder colors for those who want to enhance their décor.
2. Very comfortable
Comfort is essential when designing a sofa. More than 70% of you made it one of your main criteria. You spend hours on it alone reading, with family in front of the TV, or with friends over drinks. Comfort was therefore our top priority in the brief, and for this we chose foams from a global leader in upholstery foam, based in France.
3. Easy to assemble
56% of you are willing to assemble the sofa if assembly is simple. We know how much you love how easy our objects are to assemble, and the sofa is no exception. Here are a few clues… Delivered flat-packed with 5 steel elements and cushions, a few screws, 2 people ready to assemble it and… There you go!
4. Removable covers
67% of you asked us for a sofa with removable covers, and we understand why. The TIPTOE sofa will therefore be made up of cushions with zip-off covers so they can be washed easily. With the sofa’s overall lifespan in mind, this also allows for better recyclability of the fabric, or makes it easy to replace.
5. Durable: over time and environmentally
And yes, as you know, TIPTOE’s mission is to create furniture that is durable, well-designed and responsibly made. We have therefore sourced the best fabrics and foams to ensure perfect traceability and responsible materials. The fabric will be recycled and meet fire-retardant standards. The structure is still made from powder-coated steel, the most recycled material in the world. The removable cushion covers will make it possible to change the fabrics or recycle them if needed.

Everything is, of course, 100% made in Europe, like all our products. Our uncompromising approach to the quality and origin of materials also ensures a sofa that will stay with you for many years.
And there you have it, you know (almost) everything about the future TIPTOE sofa! But you know us—we’re not stopping there. For 2021, we’re working in particular on ua new table system and aa lamp!
